At Left Turn Right Turn (LTRT), we’re a consulting firm passionate about improving communities by exploring solutions in transit and accessibility. We work with organizations to support the improvement of their services and operations by providing innovative and creative solutions.
The Role
The Proposal Coordinator and Team Supporter is a versatile, detailed-oriented position where you’ll have influence over the direction and evolution of your career. This person joins our back office team in keeping the operations side of LTRT running smoothly. (Cue the Bette Midler music. “You are the wind beneath our wings.”)
You will coordinate proposal development and business development, a key function in the consulting world (we gotta land the work to do the work!). You’ll work mostly with our transit team, but also support our accessibility team as needed. Know that your work will help each of the respective teams to make significant and meaningful change in their fields. You will tackle a wide variety of assignments, applying your smarts, experience, and creativity. And the theme that underpins your work is detail, detail, detail – in accurately processing, tracking, coordinating and making sure nothing slips through the cracks.
Seeking Candidates From All Walks of Life!
LTRT is an employer that celebrates everyone’s uniqueness and strives to be representative of our communities. We recognize the societal inequities that candidates experience and encourage candidates who are Black, people of color, women, Indigenous, members of the LGBTQ+ community and/or people with disabilities to apply.
What You Can Expect Working at LTRT
Currently LTRT is 16 employees (plus a network of awesome independent affiliates we work with for various projects). We’ve established our culture, but we’re still building the company.
We are employee-focused and our aim is to grow and develop each person along with the company. We also believe in expertise – we consulted a compensation expert for the structure of our compensation packages, HR consultant for organizational development, and engaged a trainer for leadership development sessions (which you will participate in). We know the key to LTRT’s success is investing in our employees. We profit share and are currently implementing employee ownership so that people can see the rewards of their work.
Joining LTRT means you have impact. Impact with your work and impact on the development of LTRT. You will work in an environment where questions are encouraged and everyone around you is happy to take the time to answer. You will be paid a competitive salary and access to a health spending account (replenished annually). Vacation and comp time is respected. You will receive an annual training budget because we fundamentally believe in continual personal growth and development. Performance and salary reviews are never skipped (and yes, we have an established process for this).
You will be asked how LTRT can keep improving. And on Fridays we reserve time to connect, whether it’s for showing off our new side projects or for some board game sessions.
It’s hard to start a new job remotely, but we do everything in our power to make sure you feel a part of the team immediately. We were flexibly working-from home before the pandemic and sure as heck will continue to do so after.
Our DNA
The LTRT team is creative, collaborative, and balanced – that’s what we refer to as our DNA. These values embody our approach to everything.
Creative: We look for new ideas and methods to inject at the start of each project. This keeps things fresh and relevant for the client, and exciting and interesting for us. We innovate in our work because one can, and one should, always strive to improve.
Collaborative: We communicate effectively, whether in-person, in writing, or by carrier pigeon. We mix working meetings and workshops regularly into our projects to keep us in sync internally as well as with clients. Most importantly, we’ll support each other during (the occasional) crunches so no one bears the load alone.
Balanced: We value a balanced approach to work and life. While we’re serious about the work we’re light-hearted about the work atmosphere. We follow up an intense project with necessary recovery time off (with some food, drinks, and fun to accelerate the process!).
