We help clients assess and improve the decision-making structures, processes, and policies that guide the planning, delivery, and operation of public transportation systems. Then we support their success by ensuring strategic alignment among transit agencies, governments and stakeholders.

LTRT supported the review of transit services in Niagara Region to recommend a new governance model for transit in the region that improves services to customers and streamlines operations. LTRT’s role involved undertaking an extensive review of current services in the region to baseline operations and infrastructure.
LTRT worked closely with the various operating entities in the region, including Niagara Falls Transit, St. Catharines Transit, and Welland Transit, to capture the current services, resources, and plans. LTRT developed demand forecasts for transit and analyzed the current network’s capacity to support the growth. In turn, this led to recommendations for future service levels and high-level network changes.
Finally, LTRT supported the evaluation of options, looking at various distributed and centralized models for transit delivery, management, and governance. Through this project, LTRT engaged with the Chief Administrative Officers from the region, to ensure that the evaluation and success criteria used to evaluate options reflected the interests of the respective communities
